Lukas Strobel – better known as Alligatoah – is a rapper, singer, and producer. His sarcastic lyrics, creative videos and cheeky disguises have won him a huge following. He'll be touring once again in Germany in October.
The Anchor Award for new pop music talent
The Anchor Award honors new pop music talent from around the world. It was handed out this year for the first time – at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg. Eight up-and-coming acts competed for the accolade.
Okta Logue – Contemporary Retro-Rock
Okta Logue mix psychedelic rock and indie sounds – and have opened for Neil Young at his gigs in Europe. The band from Griesheim, near Frankfurt, are on tour in Germany right now to promote their latest album.
HIT: Phillip Boa and the Voodoo Club – Twisted Star
Philip Boa is the "grand old man" of German Indie rock. His latest album "Blank Expression" brings together 19 singles from three decades – plus some new songs. The album's already made it into the German Top 10.
TIP: Patrice – Burning Bridges
Patrice's mix of reggae, soul, folk, pop, and hip-hop have made him an international star. He's now released the first single from his new album "Life's Blood." The video for the single was shot in Jamaica.
CULT: Kraftwerk – Musique Non Stop (1986)
30 years ago, Kraftwerk released “Electric Café”. They also produced a video for the first single off the album: “Musique Non-Stop.” It featured cutting-edge computerized images of the band’s faces. The single made it to No. 1 on the US Dance Club charts.
