Gerhard Seyfried is a comic artist, writer and translator. In the 1980s he was the favourite cartoonist of West Berlin's left-wing underground scene and he's since branched out as a novelist. Five years ago, he began writing historical fiction, mainly about Germany's colonial past. His latest book "Yellow Wind" is a look at the Boxer Revolution in China, and he also recently published two volumes of his collected comic and graphic works.

We talked to Gerhard Seyfried about comics, military history and life in Germany, past and present.
