The Reykjavik police initially set up an Instagram account to give the public a glimpse of their working lives - and went on to become an international phenomenon. In a city with a population of 120,000, not a single murder required a police investigation last year. According to 2015's criminal statistics, just 3,449 property crimes and 1,181 assaults occurred.
