The fairytale king Ludwig II would be thrilled. Schloss Neuschwanstein once again radiates its former glory. The aging dowager had been forced into a corset for a decade. Now the renovation is complete and the scaffolding has finally been removed.
The Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II. the fairytale king, remains the biggest tourist magnet in Bavaria. The Würzburg Residence and the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg are also popular with visitors.
People from all over the world travel to Bavaria to see the King Ludwig II's fairy-tale castle. Now a major renovation project is underway to save the landmark structure.
More than 1.6 million people have visited the Elbphilharmonie Plaza, which opened in November. That means the Plaza has already attracted more visitors than Neuschwanstein Castle gets in a year.
