In Nepal, major newspapers came out with a blank space instead of editorial columns on Tuesday. They were protesting against an assault on journalists and a leading media house called Himal by Maoist supporters at the weekend. The Media Society and Editors Alliance in Nepal is calling it a direct attack on free press and democracy.
