My Halle – a tour with Salih Hadawi from Kerbela, Iraq

For the Iraqi Salih Hadawi from Karbala in Iraq, Halle has a dear place in memories of his youth. Salih did his doctorate here 15 years ago, and now he's come back to see how things have changed. And boy, have they ever! Salih Hadawi finds a city that has been reborn and recouped much of its original luster after losing some of it during the communist years. But there's more than just shine to Halle. We accompany Salih to some of Halle's other treasures, like the Museum of Prehistory, the Moritzburg and the Biebechenstein Castle, which overlooks the Saale river.
