Rent is going up in the Netherlands, so some students are opting to live with much older people – in care homes. There they get free rent, and the elderly people get some lively company.
Many Roma in Slovakia live on the outskirts of villages in simple shanty towns. Most of them are unemployed. The mayor of a village with 1,500 residents has started a company that shows it doesn't have to be like that.
Many Syrian children in Turkey are forced to work illegally instead of going to school. They are paid a pittance but since there is scant support from the state for refugees, they have little choice.
