There's a criminal investigation ongoing into who may have shot down flight MH17. Dutch Prime Minister Marke Rutte has called on Russia to cooperate. Instead, Russia was quick to discredit the investigation and lay the blame squarely on Ukraine.
Protesters have called on Moscow to stop obstructing an investigation into the 2014 crash of a Malaysia Airlines plane as it flew over conflict-ridden eastern Ukraine. All 298 people onboard died in the disaster.

All of Ukraine, minus Crimea, has been declared a new state by Donetsk separatists in the east. Their new nation of 'Malorossiya' has a flag and a map. Germany has condemned it as "completely unacceptable."
