Marti Moreno is a sculptor from Spain. He works with metal. We met up with him in his workshop in Valencia.
He lived as a recluse for decades, and in the privacy of his home the German biologist Erwin Hapke folded hundreds of thousands of models from paper and metal: the fascinating legacy of a recluse.
Kenyan artist Kioko Mwitiki’s life-sized scrap metal sculptures won him global acclaim. He tells DW about his art's impact, scavenging and environmental challenges facing Africa as it becomes the 'factory of the world.'
Fat Porsches, thick bellies, walls of knitted fabric: Austrian artist Erwin Wurm's sculptures are surreal, philosophical and always full of wit. A double exhibition in Duisburg presents his works.
He makes Japan-inspired china and relates his metal chair to car fenders. Young German designer Stefan Diez is influenced by his time in Asia, but pays tribute to German craftmanship. His work is on show in Cologne.
