18 victims of the Germanwings air disaster came from the Joseph Koenig high school in Haltern in western Germany. 7 months on from the crash, German chancellor Angela Merkel has been there, with the message that their loss hasn't been forgotten.
Commemoration ceremonies have been held in France and Germany to mark the first anniversary of the deliberate crashing of a Germanwings flight in the French Alps. All 150 people onboard the Airbus A320 died in the crash.
On the eve of the Germanwings crash's one-year anniversary, family members and friends have honored the victims. Authorities recommended new regulatory measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
