Music fans will meet for four days in the small but great venues on Hamburg's famous street in the St.Pauli district, known locally as "the pleasure mile," to enjoy live music ranging from rock, pop, indie, electronic, hip-hop, soul and folk music. Some 400 artists will be performing at 70 venues during this anniversary festival, which runs from September 23-26, 2015.

One of the highlights will be the performance by the British band New Order, known for hits like "Blue Monday" and "True Faith." Shows hosted by MTV veteran Ray Cokes are also a well-established element of the festival.

The festival has decided to start focusing on one particular country and its music every year, and Finland was chosen for this first year.

Visitors can freely go from stage to stage. Festival founder Alexander Schulz says this will reflect music fan's behavior on the internet, where they tend also to click from song to song.

A music industry conference will be taking place alongside the Reeperbahn Festival. The model for the Hamburg festival was the South By Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas.
