The Mühldorfer bedding company, a family-owned business in the Bavarian town of Haidmühle, has been making high-quality duvets and pillows since 1920. Nowadays Mühldorfer boasts an annual turnover of about 7 million euros. The two women who head the company are its founder's great nieces, and they've found an extremely lucrative market: international hotel chains, which these days demand only the best down from Icelandic eider ducks.
