Several people were killed in a terror attack on and near London Bridge, after a van plowed into pedestrians and attackers ran through Borough Market, stabbing people at random. Police claim to have killed three attackers.
Police in Paris killed a man after he stabbed others in the French capital. Judicial sources said the attacker had been on a police list as a risk to national security.
Britain has announced a revised counterterrorism strategy that aims to disrupt terrorist threats earlier. The strategy comes amid reports that dozens of convicted extremists will be released from prison this year.
