Unwanted iguanas

Native to Central and South America and parts of the Caribbean, green iguanas have been spreading across South Florida after escaping or being released by pet owners. They are eating flowering plants that butterflies depend on, and are crowding out smaller native lizards. Parts of Florida now swarm with iguanas, and wildlife experts warn the invasive reptile is reproducing at an alarming rate.
