An Indigenous community in Canada is taking its fight against an oil pipeline to the country's Supreme Court. Chippewas of the Thames First Nation say they were never consulted on the Line 9 pipeline project, which pumps Alberta tar sands oil through the community's traditional land. The residents fear an oil spill will do irreversible damage to the environment and local water sources.
