The transition from fossil fuels to renewables for energy production is accelerating. But recent research warns that efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions could put pressure on water resources, particularly in developing countries in Africa and Southeast Asia. The warning comes from the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria.
