Kenya's main opposition leader Raila Odinga says the country has to deal with all the irregularities committed during the recent Kenyan election.
Security forces in Kenya assaulted and raped civilians in opposition strongholds after the August elections, rights group Human Rights Watch (HRW) said. About half the incidents reported to HRW were gang rapes.
Venezuela's opposition has said it won't be bullied out of participating in future elections, a day after threats by President Nicolas Maduro. The US said it stands with Venezuelans as they "seek to restore democracy."
President Nicolas Maduro said three parties which boycotted mayoral elections should be ineligible for future votes. He said the ruling party won at least 90 percent of the 335 mayorships.
President Uhuru Kenyatta begins his second term as leader of Kenya. But contested elections and months of political violence have cast doubt on his legitimacy and raised tensions in the capital.
