'Cloud Atlas' director Tom Tykwer heads up the Berlinale jury. He first came to international attention with 'Run Lola Run' in 1998 and has a long history with the Berlinale.
The German director, producer and composer best-known for "Run Lola Run" and "Cloud Atlas" will serve as jury president of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival.
19 films from international directors will compete to win the festival's Golden Bear for best film. Berlinale's 68th edition will also address the #MeToo movement and industry gender parity through side events.
Germany's largest film festival, the Berlinale, opens on February 15. From the #MeToo movement to Wes Anderson's opening film, the festival's director Dieter Kosslick reveals what makes this year's program special.
"Babylon Berlin" is the most expensive TV series to have ever been filmed in Germany. Tom Tykwer's adaptation of a detective novel series portrays Berlin in the 1920s — a vibrant period before the Nazis came to power.
