Hoffenheim have extended the contracts of coach Julian Nagelsmann and sporting director Alexander Rosen on the back of the club's best ever season.

Nagelsmann's deal now runs to 2021 and Rosen has signed to 2020 following a sensational campaign that carried the team to fourth in the table.

"I feel a lot of desire and anticipation for the forthcoming challenges," Nagelsmann said in an official statement..

Nagelsmann was appointed Hoffenheim boss in February 2016 as the youngest coach in Bundesliga history. He guided the team away from relegation danger and last season secured a fourth-place finish and entry to the Champions League playoffs.

"After so many years in different positions, I have never made any secrets about Hoffenheim being more than just an employer," Rosen added. "I am therefore very happy that I can continue to take on a position of responsibility at this great club. The confidence of the shareholders and the board of directors is for me motivation to add another chapter to the success story in the last few years."
