The crisis in Greece has hit young people hard. The employment situation in the countryside is especially dire. In the northwestern Epirus region almost 70 percent of young people are out of work.
More and more are leaving in search of jobs.

As eurozone finance ministers meet to discuss the Greek debt crisis, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel has demanded a firm commitment to debt relief. The move could cause friction in Berlin in an election year.
