Jail for China's Prominent Civil Rights Activist

China's prominent civil rights activist Hu Jia has been sentenced to three and half years in jail. The official media says the court has found him guilty of spreading malicious rumours and of trying to subvert the state's power. The 34-year-old Hu has been an outspoken critic of human rights abuses in China and has been campaigning for people with HIV/AIDS.
