Thousands of refugee children and minors have disappeared in Europe since 2014. Europol fears many may have fallen victim to human traffickers.

Never before have so many people been on the move, migrating in search of jobs and security. Large numbers are coming to Europe, but the majority are on the move elsewhere. DW looks at three examples.
Eight migrants have died, scores rescued and dozens are missing after their rubber dinghy ran into trouble off the Libyan coast. One rescue charity said those picked up had been in the sea for several hours.
The German Red Cross president said it was "frightening" how many of the disappeared are unaccompanied minors. But some of the missing may have died on their journey to Germany, the aid group said.
