Italians Turn to Cell Phones for Divine Inspiration

Many Roman Catholics carry more than cash in their wallets. Tucked inside is a holy card or prayer card. Italians call them santini, meaning little saints, because the cards often feature the images of saints.

Italians put them everywhere for protection -- on taxi dashboards, in pizzerias - and now, on their cell-phones. Now, a Milan-based company is offering downloadable images of saints so that divine inspiration is just a phone call away for cell-phone-crazed Italians. Not everyone, however, thinks it’s a divine idea
