Ex-Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been ordered to stand trial over judicial corruption, Italian media reports. The charge relates to a 2013 case, in which he was accused of having sex with a minor.
Two populist groups have emerged as the main forces in Italian politics following the March elections. The Five Star Movement has developed out of a protest group and the League has stepped up to head the center-right.
Silvio Berlusconi's old acquaintance said he would be willing to leave his post at the European Parliament for the prime minister's office. The two have known each other since Tajani co-founded Forza Italia in 1994.
