Latvia's rapid growth has brought it the highest inflation rate in Europe. Analysts say the country is one of the most vulnerable in the world to the global credit squeeze.

Since joining the European Union in 2004, Latvia has become the economic tiger of the former Eastern bloc. Foreign investment has poured into this small Baltic nation, boosting GDP and per capita income. That has led, however, to a severe overheating of the economy. After years of high growth, are the good times over?
