Just three days after the 2018 Winter Olympics ended, the IOC has confirmed that Russia has been welcomed back into the Olympic fold. This came after remaining tests from the Olympic Athletes from Russia tested negative.
The International Olympic Committee has banned two Russian cross-country skiers and a biathlete for life from the Olympics Games. The bans come as a result of the re-analysis of samples from the 2014 Sochi Winter Games.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said the offences were committed during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Further cases “cannot be excluded,” the IOC said.
