Inside Europe - The world's oldest newest doctor

Irris Makler, Hamburg, GermanyJune 25, 2015

A German woman made history this month by becoming the oldest person to be awarded a medical doctorate. 102 year old Ingeborg Rapoport received her degree 77 years after the Nazis denied it to her the first time round, because her mother was Jewish. And this wasn't an honorary degree. Dr Rapoport re-took the oral exam, studying again and doing a viva with 3 examiners from the medical school.
