After China, Turkey boasts the biggest civil engineering projects in the world. Most of these multi billion Euro projects have European partners. And such partnerships have become a useful tool in Ankara’s efforts to mute EU criticism over human rights concerns and Turkey’s slide into authoritarianism. Dorian Jones has more from Istanbul.
