The world’s most famous clock bell is to fall silent. Big Ben has rung out across Parliament Square in London for more than 150 years. But the clock will be turned off at noon on Monday. Essential repairs have to be carried out. However, the plan to keep Big Ben silent for a period of four years has caused widespread…reverberations…and will now be reviewed.
