A 24-year-old IT worker who hacked into a giant electronic billboard and streamed porn at a busy Jakarta intersection admitted to the crime and could face six years in prison, police said Wednesday.

The hot and heavy scenes from a Japanese porn video were played for nearly 10 minutes on the LED advertising billboard last week before the power was cut. Telephone videos of the scene went viral on social media.

Conservative and largely Muslim Indonesia blocks porn websites and censors often blur or cut romantic scenes on television or in movies.

Jakarta police said they were still investigating the motive behind the hack.

"We are still investigating whether he was working alone, whether he had a particular motive, or whether he was just fooling around," Jakarta police chief Mochamad Iriawan said.
