Indian-administered Kashmir Gets New Leader

Omar Abdullah is all set to head the government in the Indian-administered part of Jammu and Kashmir after recent elections there. He is the son of Farooq Abdullah and the grandson of Sheikh Abdullah -- both former heads of government in the trouble-torn region. Once again, their National Conference Party is tying its fortunes to those of the Congress Party, as there will be a coalition government.
