Columnist for the Turkish Daily Milliyet
Semih Dündar Idiz was born in Mexico City as a son of a Turkish diplomat. He studied at Dublin University in Ireland and obtained a degree in philosophy and economic and social studies. After returning to Turkey, he started at the Economic Press Agency in Ankara and later worked at the Anatolian News Agency, Cumhuriyet Daily, Turkish Daily News, NTV news channel, Star daily, Aksam daily. During this period he worked as a journalist, editor and columnist. He also worked as a diplomatic editor for CNN Turk, which is a partner of CNN International. Presently he has a column in the daily Milliyet and in the Hürriyet Daily News. Idiz has had articles, commentaries and analyses published in the Financial Times, The Times, Mediterranean Quarterly and Foreign Policy and has been a frequent contributor to BBC World, CNN, VOA, NPR, Radio New Zealand, Deutsche Welle, various Israeli media organizations, Al Jazeera and others.
