US president Donald Trump is meeting Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday. Analysts will be watching closely for signs of a change in US-Russian ties.
The presidents of Russia and the US spoke about the situation in Syria and a coordination of anti-terror efforts in a call that lasted for over an hour. Also on the agenda were the conflict in Ukraine and North Korea.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced an unspecified international deal to expel some 40,000 African asylum seekers from the country. The Israeli Cabinet also voted to shut down a migration center.
Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah is visiting Gaza to negotiate a Hamas-Fatah unity government. But Netanyahu has said Hamas needs to make three specific concessions for Israel to accept any eventual deal.
US President Trump urged the world to pressure Iran to "end its pursuit of death and destruction." He said Iran had committed multiple violations of the accord and called for sanctions on the Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
