Gladbach captain Tony Jantschke out for three months

Borussia Mönchengladbach captain Tony Jantschke's injury woes have shown no sign of stopping, as the defender will now miss at least three months through injury. The 25-year old has missed most of the season.

Borussia Mönchengladbach confirmed on Tuesday that club captain Tony Jantschke will be out for around three months after undergoing a knee operation.

25-year old Jantschke returned to the Foals' starting lineup on Saturday against Bayer Leverkusen, but was substituted at half-time after sustaining an injury in the

5-0 loss.

The Foals confirmed on Tuesday that Jantschke had suffered a partial tear of his anterior cruciate ligament and also medial miniscus damage in his left knee. The operation, which took place on Tuesday morning in Cologne, was a success.

The defender had started the opening five Bundesliga games of the season for Gladbach, but has since featured in just three league fixtures from the start.
