German politicians are calling on their government to stop Turkish ministers campaigning in Germany. Ankara wants to address German Turks ahead of a planned referendum. But Turkey’s arrest of a German-Turkish journalist has angered Berlin.
Turkey's founding leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan were both listed as enemy targets in a NATO joint military exercise. NATO has apologized for the gaffe and blamed it on an underling.
