Löw not worried

The group welcomes recently crowned Champions League winner Sami Khedira to the camp, a return which boosts coach Löw's options. Germany's Bayern Munich trio should be fit in time for the World Cup.

Joachim Löw admitted he has no concerns over the fitness of Philipp Lahm, Manuel Neuer and Bastian Schweinsteiger ahead of the World Cup. Lahm will attend a running session tomorrow with the rest of the group.

But the German head coach is waiting on the Bayern Munich keeper to go through a few more days of rehabilitation before taking part in full training. Schweinsteiger, meanwhile, is expected to be involved in training on Wednesday.

"I see no permanent problems and I think all will be fit and healthy," Löw said. "We will be travelling with a good and competitive team to Brazil."

The head coach was also keeping the door open for Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Christoph Kramer who has impressed since joining the national team pool for the first time.

"His chances are good," Löw added. "He is very good on the ball, always playable and present. He is physically very fit, also."

Kramer had originally missed out of the 30-man squad, but was drafted after the Poland friendly following injuries to fellow central midfielders Ilkay Gündogan and Lars Bender. Other competitors for a place in midfield include both Sami Khedira and Schweinsteiger who have had injury problems of their own.

The Real Madrid midfielder is the last player to join the squad in South Tyrol, but Löw confirmed the Champions League winner would "need more time to get up to speed."

However, he did rule out the possibility of Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels being deployed as an auxiliary defensive-midfielder. In terms of Lahm's position, Löw said only that they "will decide during the preparation where he will play."

In the morning, there was an unannounced visit by FIFA representatives to take some doping tests before the World Cup.

On Sunday evening, Löw used 20 players in a friendly match against the U20 team, with the first team running out 7-1 winners. Cheslea's Andre Schürrle scored four on the day, while Kevin Volland hit a brace and Lukas Podolski also got his name on the scoresheet.

There was no room for Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Manuel Neuer, Marcel Schmelzer and Per Mertesacker, however, as they adjusted to their new surroundings having joined later in the week.

It's the first of three matches against the U20 team at the South Tyrol training camp. The youngsters will line up in comparable shape to the opposition that Germany face in Brazil, modeling the formation of their Group G rivals. Germany will then face Cameroon on June 1 before marking their last game on home turf against Armenia on June 6.
