Fences and razor wire have reduced the influx of refugees to a trickle in eastern Europe. Now the fences may be coming to the Schengen zone as well. With migrants swelling into Italy, Germany and Austria have agreed to stop them at the Brenner pass.

Set to become Europe's youngest political leader, Sebastian Kurz has predicted a new government will be formed before Christmas. He said the far-right FPÖ has ensured the government will have a "pro-European" stance.
