A U-S-led military strike in Syria has been put on hold -- at least for the time being. Germany's political parties don't want the country's armed forces taking part in any international military operations in Syria -- and on that point, at least, the parties agree. But what IS the German government's policy on Syria? And can Germany provide non-military assistance in Syria?
