With more than 40 new shows and magazines, regional and consumer advice programs, movies and repeats of television classics, GERMAN TV's unique range of programs has just expanded significantly.

Opening up a new area of programming, GERMAN TV is proud to present a series of consumer advice shows, including ARD Buffet, PRAXIS - Das Gesundheitsmagazin, Ricks Wohnwelten and ARD Ratgeber. New regional shows bring the Germany experience even closer: the Hessian magazine Maintower, the backpackers' guide Rucksack or Zwischen Spessart und Karwendel, a profile about Bavaria.

Programming has also been expanded in other areas. Viewers can test their wits with the NDR-Quizshow, tune in to the perennial popular presenter Carlo von Tiedemann in Aktuelle Schaubude, and laugh along with the pointed satire of Der Scheibenwischer.

A number of new magazine shows will be introducing some fresh ideas to the airwaves. In Polylux, Tita von Hardenberg takes a look at both the urban lifestyle and the political foibles of the German capital Berlin. The weekly music round-up popXport chronicles the burgeoning diversity of the young German music scene, and c't covers all topics concerning the world of computers.

Old friends resurface with classic TV shows such as Diese Drombuschs or Das Erbe der Guldenburgs, both shows that made German television history.

Our two main news programs, tagesschau and heute-journal, will now be broadcast during prime-time hours in the United States: 9pm and 11pm ET, 6pm and 8pm PT. Broadcasts of children's programming will now be staggered, so as to better serve late-sleepers - that should be particularly appreciated by the little ones at the West Coast.

The newly expanded GERMAN TV program schedule: What Germany is Watching - more variety, better timeslots!
