German Prostitute Faces Charges of Running Call Girl Ring

A 44-year-old British woman and her suspected German accomplice, who is absconding, face charges of running a high-class prostitution ring operating worldwide, and could face up to 23 years in prison. French police arrested Briton Margaret Mcdonald in May last year in a luxury hotel in Paris with a laptop containing names of prostitutes and customers. Mcdonald, who speaks eight languages and has visited elite universities in London, Reims and Paris is accused of supplying wealthy clients with more than 400 call girls. Influential bosses of established business firms are also believed to have been among the customers. Her German partner, a 23-year-old, who worked since age 17 as a prostitute herself in Germany and speaks flawless French, was arrested in June 2001, but was released later on parole. She has been on the run ever since. The trial is expected to begin next month.
