German import prices rose by 1.6 percent in June from May, and leapt by 4.4 percent on a 12-month basis, figures released Monday by the federal statistics office said. The year-on-year increase was the highest since February 2001, it noted. Excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, import prices were 0.3 percent higher in June from the same month one year earlier, it said. Export prices were up 1.1 percent in June from a year ago, it added.
