German Import Prices Fall in September

The cost of goods imported to Germany fell in September due to the euro's appreciation against the dollar. Prices declined by 0.2 percent from August and 0.8 percent from July, the German Federal Statistics Office in Wiesbaden said on Friday. Imports were 2.6 percent cheaper than in 2002. Mineral oil, cocoa, bananas and coffee, among other products, all cost significantly less than a year ago.
