German Cinema 2008

German-made movies accounted for a proud 27% of the tickets sold here in 2008, the best result in decades. Audiences were captivated by strong women, big emotions, political subjects and the universal themes of love, sex and death. At the year’s festivals and prize galas, there was plenty to celebrate.
