German Cannibal Collected Torture Photos on Web

German cannibal Armin Meiwes used the Internet to search out like-minded people, and that’s how he found his future victim. And investigators now say that he also used the Internet to collect thousands of photos depicting torture and violence. Out of more than 3,800 picture files found as part of the investigation, about 50 were shown as Meiwes tore apart his victim, according to investigators. Meiwes, a self-acknowledged cannibal, is on trial in a Kassel court for eating a Berlin man. Meiwes’ father and brother are due to testify as witnesses on Friday and the verdict is expected no sooner than late January.
