UN mediator Staffan de Mistura has his work cut out for himself trying to negotiate peace in Syria. After government and opposition refused to talk, de Mistura met with Syrian women to bring home the suffering of civilians.
The UN says 137 children under siege in the rebel-held suburb of Eastern Ghouta require immediate evacuation. Five children there are reported to have already died from a lack of medical care.
