The French product designer Phillipe Starck won the 14th annual Lucky Strike Designer Award in Berlin over the weekend. Starck, who next to designing furniture, electronic appliances and watches also works as an interior designer, followed designers like Donna Karan and Karl Lagerfeld in winning the award. The €50,000 in prize money makes the award, commissioned by the late Raymond Loewy in 1991, the biggest design prize in the world. Starck, famous for his 1980s icon orange press "Juicy Salif," said his next project would be the interior design of apartments in Hamburg.
