In many EU countries, right-wing populists are benefiting from the unsolved migration problems. A European solution is becoming increasingly difficult, and countries are starting to go it alone.
Germany, France and key European states will hold an informal meeting on Sunday to address migration. It comes as the EU shifts into overdrive to strike a migration deal ahead of a leaders summit on June 28-29.
Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic have called for the EU's border management agency to be strengthened. The Visegrad Group has pushed for tough policies on irregular migration to the EU.
