Many young women from Nigeria dream of a better life in Europe. They cross the Mediterranean with the help of human traffickers. But once in Italy, many end up working as prostitutes. DW has this exclusive report from Florence.
Germany and Austria's interior ministers have accused private initiatives to save refugees in the Mediterranean of intentionally working with people smugglers. The accusation has sparked outrage and may not even be true.

Closed borders only help traffickers. Germany wants more international cooperation - in Europe and Africa.
