Kinemathek turns 50

June 17, 2013

In 1963, Gerhard Lamprecht, a film historian and director, began collecting film reels, posters, and film scripts. That became the basis of the Deutsche Kinemathek – the museum for film and television in Berlin. Today, the collection holds about 60,000 objects and is one of the most important documents of German film history.
