Fears grow as US debt deadline looms

The US is veering towards a default, and congress still hasn't been able to break the deadlock. The government has been shutdown for three weeks now and if Democrats and Republicans don't strike a deal to raise the US borrowing limit, politicians, bankers and economists are warning of global consequences.
